Hi everyone . I haven't posted anything for a while but I enjoy reading your posts , They are all interesting.
I had a cold and tickley cough. That's gone but my throat today is so painful just when I swallow. I have never had this before and I have had sore throats. Just feels like a hard lump in my throat. My methotrexate injection 20 mgs is due tomorrow, maybe I should miss it. Anyone suggest what I should due ?

Get yourself to your GP tomorrow or if you're blessed with a functioning 111 service call them tonight. You might have an infection in your throat.

I don't use MTX any more so I am not the best person to answer whether to hold off on tomorrow's dose.

Hi,

I too take MXT and have been told in the past when you have a cold etc. it isn't as effective. I have a cold at the moment but still did my weekly injection but have noticed I had more aching this week. Have you got a rheumy team you can call & yes, get an appointment to see your doctor BigGrin

I take mtx 25mg,i have just had whatever it was for 4 wks and now have the heavy cold I rarely stop mtx even on the antibiotics,saying that my head was so painfull I didn't take 1 weeks as I just didn't fancy the side effects on top,now I just ache from head to foot but yes as paul says you must speak to someone and get it looked at never dally,good luck,dorothy

Thanks all I will ring the RA nurse in the morning and see what they say. Slightly better today but still painful when I swallow.
I have been gargling and taking painkillers. I wont do my injection to I speak to them, I have often taken it late as long as I stick to seven days.
